Donald Trump’s lawyers sue over ‘Top Trump’ card game rights

The 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, has this week started legal proceedings against Winning Moves UK, the rights owners of the popular card game Top Trumps.

The game, which consists of themed decks, and is played by two or more players comparing the attributes of items such as cars, has been hugely popular since it was first produced in 1968. The game has maintained its popularity over the years, as nostalgic dads wish to pass on to their children their sheer delight of knowing that a Hillman Avenger has a larger carburettor than an Austin Allegro.

The game’s longevity, and distinctly British themes, coupled with the recent limited edition Top Trumps of the wedding guests of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in 2011, has made it a source of national pride.

President Trump recently tweeted “Top Trumps missing the Toppest Trump of them all! Sad. Could be a Brexit deal-breaker. #fakegames #uklosers #sad”

Prime Minister Theresa May was unavailable for comment, although MP Jacob Rees-Mogg was quoted as saying “Perhaps it wouldn’t be beyond the imagination that one could make that a lagniappe for the NHS sell-off”

Popular Twitter user @garybrexit88 responded to Trump’s tweet with “Trump4PM! We need a wall in the sea to keep the bloody Spanish trawlers out!”
