Jurgen “Man Of The People” Klopp, Liverpool’s popular head coach, has announced today his desire to apply for Norwegian Citizenship.
Since arriving at Anfield in October 2015, Klopp’s down-to-earth demeanour instantly warmed hearts in the Kop and his popularity has since gone from strength to strength. Both on and off the field, his support for his players and Liverpool FC’s fans has been clearly evident.
Klopp has successfully overseen the transfer to Liverpool of side favourites, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, and Dutch international Virgil van Dijk, both of whom have proved invaluable in the current reds squad. Klopp’s fortunes, however, hit a bumpy patch recently after back-to-back losses to relegation potentials Swansea and West Brom, the latter causing Liverpool to spiral out of the FA Cup in embarrassing fashion.
Local fan, Gerry Bentnobb, of Breck Road, told Mersey Gazette’s reporter that “{Klopp} is clearly just blagging it. He should do the decent thing and step aside. There’s a lot of local management talent that could step into his shoes, myself included. I’ve been playing Football Manager on the PC for the last 15 years, but to this day, I haven’t had a reply when I’ve submitted my CV”
Klopp issued a statement about his proposed change of citizenship, saying that he had fallen in love with Liverpool to such an extent, that he wanted to give something back to the fans that kept the matchday gate revenue flowing. So the decision was made to change his nationality to that of LFC’s core supporters.
