KFC crisis escalates as DHL claim chicken was “left in a safe place near the porch”

Popular fast food chain KFC, who suffered the temporary closure of hundreds of restaurants this week due to supply problems, issued a statement today saying they were unable to set a date for when services would be back to normal. KFC had recently changed logistics partner to well-known courier DHL, and consequently, many restaurants found themselves without necessary supplies.

Not all restaurants were affected, as DHL had managed to correctly deliver to some establishments in the South East and London. KFC regular, Bobby Hanfrey, 35, of Brent Cross, who was one of the ‘lucky’ customers to have managed to secure a Mega Gravy Box and a Zinger Tower, said “When I was handed my lunch, it looked like it had been left out in the rain overnight. The box was sopping wet and held together with elastic bands, and the contents looked like someone had stamped on them. I asked the girl behind the counter, she said DHL was in charge of deliveries now”

DHL has hit back at claims that they were unable to complete delivery, claiming that the 7,500 metric tons of chicken had in fact been “left in a safe place near the porch”, and that it had “been signed for”, despite the lack of anyone actually being there to accept delivery.
