Ex-Czech spy Jan Sarkocy claims he “shot J.R. Ewing”

The former Czech spy Jan Sarkocy, who recently claimed he exchanged secrets in the 1980s with the leader of the opposition Jeremy Corbyn, has caused further controversy today by claiming that he “shot J.R. Ewing”.

Fans of the 1980s TV series Dallas will remember the famously long drawn out storyline of who shot the main character, oil magnate J.R. Ewing. The show survived a seemingly endless number of episodes using the doubt created around which character did the deed, consequently threw several characters into the frame.

Jan Sarkocy claims the TV series was seen by the Kremlin and the KSČ as the ‘epitome of western decadence’ and a ‘cancer in the moral fabric of society’, and in 1980 Sarkocy was allegedly sent over to Dallas to infiltrate the Ewing family and bring down its patriarch, John Ross. Sarkocy claims to have managed the unlikely deception by dressing up as one of the female members of the Ewing family. He claims he was able to successfully dupe the Ewings after special training from fellow secret agent Katya Zamolodchikova.

After further examination of his claims by Mersey Gazette investigative reporter Michael Hussey, it is yet unclear whether Sarkocy is aware that the Ewings were, in fact, fictional characters.
