Kanye announces intention to run for Pope

Kanye West, the rapper, producer, and clothes designer, has recently announced his intention to run for the office of Pope. The announcement comes not long after West’s failed attempt to run for the office of President of the United States in the 2020 election, where he had a barely noticeable impact on the ballot box.

West’s press release reads, “The world is in need, more than ever before, for a greater connection to the Supreme Being, and as ‘Pope Ye the First’, my fans will be able to do just that, via Twitter and Tik Tok”. Journalists outside his ranch in Wyoming pressed West for further comment, to which he muttered oddly, “I’m just answering a calling, God will still be God everywhere else”.

A spokesperson for Pope Francis said, “Mr West is welcome to the fold, and his ambitions are admired, however, there is no intention of changing the current Pontiff selection criteria to include unordained music producers.”

Kanye will be promoting his new ambitious campaign with an album of trap-influenced reworkings of Christmas carols entitled “O Come, All Ye Faithful”
